Running is a technical sport. How do I learn 'lighter' running

It is not complicated to plan your running style, but you have to know how. If you know how to apply it, you are one of the most beautiful runners, promised!

How should your attitude be when running

The most important condition for running smoothly and light is your posture. How is your attitude?

Try to walk and make yourself long.

If you don't make yourself long, "you fall in" while walking. Your joints do not like to collapse with every pass that you make. For example, think of your knees, hips and lower back. If you always collapse there and you make more than 5000 passes with a 30 -minute walk, there is a good chance that you will get injured! And it costs energy.

How do you make yourself long? Put your head well (right on your hull, chin bit and look straight forward). Lift your breastbone (you can immediately make use of your lung capacity), stand upright as much as possible and ensure optimum core voltage, you do this by pulling in your navel and tensioning your buttocks. An ideal tool is a window of a store or something that you can use as a mirror while you walk by instead of watching your hair. Most made mistakes and what you can do about it:

  • Leaning forward with hip that remains behind: pushing the hip forward
  • Exaggerated hollow lower back: tilt pelvis
  • Looking at the ground while you walk (handy if you have to look where you are going to put your feet, but when you walk asphalt this is not necessary!): Enjoy the view
  • Lower hips during walking or "walk too low" (think of a turd catcher): bring your core to tension! You do this, for example, by dribbling calmly and at the same time grabbing your arms directly above your head in the air. Now your core is well under voltage, then bring your arms down and use them normally but keep your core voltage. If all goes well you no longer fall in you walk nicely "high"!

Do not switch too quickly

Make sure you do not switch too quickly to a new technique because this can lead to injuries, your tendons and muscles still have to get used to. Only occasionally something and if this feels good, build up the duration slowly.
