Perhaps the most beautiful triathlon in the Netherlands
Triathlon club UHTT and Greenrace Foundation have joined forces to organize this triathlon around the Henschotermeer and through the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. With start and finish at the Henschotermeer, a bike course through the forests of the National Park and over the locally renowned calf bites Hoogstraat and Ruiterberg, and a running course over the beautiful grounds of the Henschotermeer this promises to be one of the most beautiful triathlons through nature in the Netherlands.
You can compete in a triathlon over two different distances:
The Quarter Triathlon: 1,000m, swim, 38km bike (2 laps) and 10km run
The 1/8th triathlon: 500m, swimming, 22km cycling (1 lap) and 5km running
The greenest triathlon in the Netherlands - #DeGroenste
The UHTT Triathlon has the ambition to organize this race as sustainable as possible. To realize this they ask you the following:
- Do not leave any trash behind. This is really out of the question
- You must bring your own swim cap,
- They encourage carpooling and public transportation,
other than that:
- Catering is as organic as possible and
- A portion of the entry fee goes to the National Park and other estate owners for conservation purposes.
- They minimize the (one-time) use of plastic
From June to September:
On a beautiful summer day in June, many more bathers come to Lake Henschoter Lake, than on a day with similarly beautiful weather in September. We want to guard the safety, as well as the fun, of the triathlon participants as well as the other bathers. Therefore we have decided to change the date.
